Keelham Christmas tree shines at Holy Trinity Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival

Our Keelham Christmas tree looked lovely and festive when we set it up ready for the Holy Trinity Parish Church Christmas Tree festival. It ran at the Queensbury church over the weekend of Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December. This is one of the ways we work together with the local community. Plus our ladies in the Flower Barn never miss an opportunity to promote their beautiful handmade Christmas arrangements. Click read more to see the Keelham tree. [More]

Santa's Grotto is rocking!

Santa arrived in traditional Keelham style on tractor and trailer on Saturday 1st of December after his annual tour of the local villages of Denholme, Thornton, Clayton and Queensbury. He was met by a crowd of onlookers eager to see the man himself. Santa and his elves saw nearly double the number of children over this year's opening weekend compared to last year. This is great news for Candlelighters the local children's charity who we donate all profits of the Grotto to.

Christmas champion purchased from Wharfedale Auction Mart at Otley

Locally sourced meat is at the heart of our business here at Keelham. This is why our co-owner James Robertshaw visits local auction marts every week to handpick the best to supply our in house butchers with the tastiest local meat available. James knows his way around livestock and was taught how to select the best by his father Andrew, who started Keelham in the 1970s, and his Grandad Harry, who ran a butchers shop in Halifax, well before people had cars to be able to access us here.

interesting job opportunities - Christmas Elves wanted!

Every year, we open up an amazing Winter Wonderland where Santa sits in his Grotto ready to meet children and listen to their Christmas wishes. It's going to be even bigger and better this year, and we really need some helpful Elves to help Santa in his Grotto! [More]

Championing local food is not just for Christmas!

We champion local food all year round and Christmas is no exception. We were proud winners of the national Food and Farming Industry Awards Non-Multiple Retailer of the Year 2010 for our commitment to local produce. Now we have just found out that we have been shortlisted from some 2,500 nominations as a Yorkshire regional finalist for the Local Food Award in the 2011 Countryside Alliance Awards, known as the 'Rural Oscars'.

Yet again championing local food James Robertshaw bought the supreme beef champion at Skipton Auction Mart's Christmas primestock shows and sales on Sunday 27th November ready for your Christmas tables. [More]
