Can you create a signature sausage fit for the Queen?!
Use your imagination and dream up a right royal banger recipe - a brand-new sausage flavour specially for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations this June.
We're running a Royal Diamond Jubilee sausage competition and the winner will not only see their stately sizzlers produced in-house and sold over the butchers' counter in our farm shop, but a complimentary pack will also wing its way to the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
The competition has launched this week, during National Butchers' Week, and we need YOU to help us create a new sausage flavour fit for royalty. For some inspiration, you can see some hints and tips on the Queen's favourite foods and complete an entry form by visiting our Jubilee table in the shop. The closing date is Monday, April 9.
We'll announce the top three shortlisted flavours, chosen by our master butchers, in late April and will hold customer tastings of the trio in the shop at the start of May. We want customers to get involved and vote for their favourite flavour. The sausage that wins the most votes will be unveiled in May in good time for the Diamond Jubilee Festivities.
The person who invents the majestic new flavour will win 10lbs of their sausage flavour, a case of Champagne to toast their success, plus a £100 Keelham Voucher! The two runners-up will also receive 5lbs of their sausage flavour and a £50 Keelham voucher.
Our co-owner and Director Victoria Robertshaw, who came up with the idea of the Royal Jubilee sausage, explains:
"The Queen's Diamond Jubilee is one of the highlights of the entire year and we wanted to do something different and really special that involves as many of our customers as possible - both those willing to have a go at coming up with a sausage flavour fit for the sovereign and others to act as expert tasters and cast their votes for ther favourite!"
