On Saturday 7th April, Keelham Farm Shop is going to be host to some of the cast and crew of the hit US reality TV programme ‘My Big Redneck Vacation’.
The reality show is produced by a Florida-based TV company called Pink Sneakers Productions, and it follows the experiences of a typical American family from the swamps of Louisiana who have come to the UK for the Summer. Staying in Skipton, the family will learn how to live the Yorkshire life – from our food and ale, to our beautiful countryside.
The show’s producers wanted to find a suitable location to film some scenes of the family doing their shopping, where they could try some typical Yorkshire food – and Keelham was their first choice!
Alycia Christodoulou, an associate producer on the show was shown around the shop on Thursday 5th April, where she enjoyed her chat to Rory from our Butchers team, as he explained all about our local sourcing policy with our meat being bought at local auction marts such as Otley and Skipton.
Sally, whom you’ll no doubt recognise from our tasting table, got Alycia excited about our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee sausage competition - so we may have some interesting ‘redneck’ sausages in the mix!
If you’re planning on heading over to Keelham on Saturday, we just want to make you aware of the filming, but don’t worry; we will make sure that it doesn’t disturb your shopping routine! If you have any questions, please do ask a member of staff who would be more than happy to help out.
The filming went really well and today (Friday 20th April) we received a lovely card from Alycia at the production company which made us smile.
