Front of House Assistant Manager - Skipton

Job Summary

We are now looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to confidently deliver consistent exceptional service, food and drink knowledge in order to assist with management of the Keelham Kitchen service and team.


As Assistant Manager you will have presence and personality and be in a position to influence the day-to-day business as you support the Food and Beverages Manager. You will lead by example, setting high standards and providing excellent service.

The Keelham Kitchen is open 7 days a week so shift flexibility across the week will be required. This will include a minimum of two late nights one being a weekend day. This position is full time 45 hours per week.

 Key Requirements

  •  Delivering personal and consistent customer service
  • Assist the Food and Beverages Manager with daily operations, management of the team and ensuring a great experience for the customer
  • Must be flexible to cover all duties
  • Maintain a calm demeanor when problems arise
  • Assist in ensuring the team never stray from keeping the customer at the centre of everything they say and do
  •  Assist with the induction and training of new departmental team members
  • Ensure thorough communication within the department upwards and downwards
  • Motivate and coach the team to deliver a high level of individual and departmental service
  • Assist department manager with performance management issues (lateness, absence, poor work rate, poor service)
  • Work with department manager to ensure department team availability through coordinating rotas and attendance
  • Follow company policies and procedures relating to process, product and people
  • Ensure departmental compliance with legislation, and Health & Safety

Additional Requirements 

  • Demonstrable previous supervisory experience in a lively cafe/ restaurant/bar
  • Confident, presentable and determined personality
  • Excellent customer service skills and great with the art of service
  • Strong communicator within the business and with customers
  • Good organisational skills and common sense
  • Smart & presentable, extremely reliable and committed
  • Friendly and approachable


This is a permanent position (6 m probationary period)
