Stir up Sunday by making your Christmas Pud

At Keelham, stir-up Sunday really marks the start of the festive season, when delicious Christmas aromas start to fill the house. Its a chance to bring the whole family together as each member, young and old, takes it in turn to stir the mixture and make a wish. Dating back to Victorian times and falling on the last Sunday before the season of Advent, Stir up Sunday is the traditional time to start baking your Christmas pud.

We've made creating a deliciously tasty pud nice and easy this year with our Christmas Pudding Kits, that come with easy to follow instructions to create a rich and fruity pudding available in the shop for 6.

Traditionally, coins were added to the batter of Christmas puddings and if you found one in a mouthful of pudding on Christmas day it would bring health, wealth and happiness. If you're lucky you might find one too. Our Keelham twist on this custom is that We've already hidden half a dozen sixpences in our kits and each customer who discovers one will receive a Keelham Christmas hamper containing some of our favourite local produce as an extra special present from us.

Ready steady ... bake for Christmas this Sunday.
